daisy chains

accounting is driving me crazy again. Will explained some of it to me just now, so that helped me a little with it. earlier today I took a break and went out into the front yard to pick daisies and make daisy chains. martin showed me how. I made one that was too short to be a necklace so I've been using it as a circlet the whole day. it's pretty.

we had some cake and tea today. well, I had cake and tea and the rest had cake. victoria sponge with jam and cream from tesco. it's quite nice. it'd be nice to get a small jug for cream when I drink tea. I should try and find one if I go to leamington.

there's so much studying to be done. I'm feeling a little numb about it all at the moment.

days

It's really strange how time can fly. how we still hold on to old memories and keep them close to us even though so much time has gone by. achievements, and all the moments with friends, old arguments with people.

I felt like writing something, since I haven't written in a while. so I woke up this morning put on some warm clothes and sat at the edge of my bed with my laptop. I'm going to eat something and go down to the common room to work after this. I've left all my books and notes down there.

exams are coming closer and closer and I'm not sure if I'm really prepared for all of them. I mean yeah, I've been studying and doing exercises for my business modules, but I'm not sure if I really got everything down. and then there's QAM. goddamn QAM. I'm feeling quite confident about financial management at the moment. I guess I worked really hard on that, since peter corvi is like one of the best teachers EVER. I'm planning on taking finance I and II next year because he made it so interesting.

Stephie had her mandarin oral exam today. I hope she did ok. I've been helping her with it for the past few days. that's kind of a laugh for most people I guess, since I suck at chinese, but it was quite basic stuff, so it wasn't hard. she tried to convince me to take spanish next year, but I think I'll stick to french. I guess I appreciate mandarin better now though. Stephie works really hard at mandarin, it's quite inspiring. I wish I could say the same about french. but the classes were really gay, quite honestly. the adults scared me and overall seemed too eager. one of them looked like a paedophile.

things with martin have been going good, if not great. I'm quite happy, which doesn't count for much when you think about past relationships. being kind of happy back then was quite irrelevant because they mostly turned into disasters or goddamn annoying problems. well, things are good from my perspective. I'd like to think I've grown a little over here, and that my perspectives have become more mature and discerning. although, I guess few people would actually agree with me. it might just be vanity to think that way.

I don't know, he seems quite patient about everything, despite being able to get annoyed at things. but we haven't had any large arguments so far, which seems a little strange to me since we have been going out for a few months already. normally we have debates about things, and I've gotten angry a few times, but he always wheedles me out of being angry.

I've recently discovered the gorgeousness of laura ashley. so PRETTY.

it's 11 already. I better go get some food. something easy like beans on toast would be nice. then I'll go down and do some work. eggs are nice, but they're a little troublesome to peel after they've been hard boiled and are really hot.

sunny days

we had a barbeque the other day. It was a really nice sunny day, so after doing some work inside, we all went out to throw an aerobie pro and play some football. I didn't get the ball much because I kind of suck, and during ultimate frisbee natalie forgot I was on her team, but it was quite funny and fun overall.

croissant drove us to tesco to get a grill and some food. It was an awesome barbeque. croissant drove his car up onto the field so we could unload the stuff there. nadiah and some others mixed pimms with strawberries and mint and oranges. It was gorgeous. just the sort of thing you should have in the summer time. The great thing was that the weather was sunny, but windy as well. and in the evening the sun only sets around 9. it was really cool and standing by the barbeque grill kind of kept you warm. it was kind of pleasant, compared to sweating in front of the barbeque with all the smoke getting into your eyes. well, I guess there was smoke still, but no sweating. Lots of people brought there winter blankets out to sit on.

some of the guys continued to play football, while the rest of us sat around drinking. we got some ice and put them in basins to chill the beers, since we didn't have coolers. karim did most of the cooking that night, if not all. and it was pretty damn awesome how all the barbeque foods were on offer at tesco. ribs, sausages, ultimate burgers and chicken kebabs. I kept thinking of sambal stingray, but you take what you can get you know?

anyway in the evening some people ran back to tesco to get marshmallows. and we stuck around for a while in the dark, eating marshmallows with digestives. It was awesome. saw the big dipper and all that. I have to admit that I got a little tipsy and started rambling about things in general, but I don't think anyone minded. on the way back will fireman lifted me because I was complaining that my feet were getting cold in the wet grass. but I made him put me down in the end because it was tickling me too much.

The next day was equally awesome, if not better. we moved a table outside to study in the sun. stephie leant me a pair of sunglasses so that the glare wouldn't bother me. and it was so incredibly pleasant. we brought out the comfy chairs from the common room. and when we got tired of revising we'd just sit in the sun with the breeze and everything. so many of us were out there, some people in the shade and what not. people coming in and out to say hello or join us. joe throwing comments out of his window down at us, like 'eunice smells' or something along those lines. stephie asked me a few questions on mandarin at some points, even though my chinese is horrendous. but I think it was like really basic stuff so I could help her a little.

I discovered that bumble bees are really really friendly and they don't sting except when they really feel threatened. I've decided that they really are quite cute, and they're quite fuzzy as well.

tomorrow is manwich day. just baguette, salami, bacon and sausages. and mustard. RAWR. we're supposed to make chocolate toffee fondant at some point as well, but I want to get a substantial amount of work done before then. I discovered the hugh beale is really quite an awesome lecturer. he's quite humorous and all that. kind of makes me think more about going into law instead of finance. I'm still not sure about all that. consideration!

I made like the ultimate dinner today, with a little help from martin. he grilled sausages and I baked a honey mustard and lemon chicken, which was quite tasty. there were potatoes, stir fry done with cajun spices and garlic bread. so full. while washing up croissant threw water in my face. again. I slapped a wet cloth around his head for all the times he threw water in my face. and so ensued a water fight. stupid puff pastry shoved a wet sponge up my back.

anyway I hope I can force myself up out of bed early tomorrow. start the day working and working. on monday I'm planning to go to leamington with jessie to get some tea and flowers. and a pair of sunglasses maybe, so I won't have to bother stephie for a pair. I'll just get some cheapo frames that keep the uv out and all that. and maybe after that we'll study a bit at starbucks.

of late I've discovered the awesomeness of soul calibre. rugby joe has it on a playstation in his room. ewan and I spent a good time playing it the other day. martin button mashes and keeps winning that way which is goddamn annoying. anyway i hope joe doesn't mind me too much playing his game.

I feel like a cup of lapsang souchong.
